The Nsyilxcn Language Fluency program equips you with deep mastery of the language. Throughout this journey, you'll develop expert-level written and spoken abilities through courses covering linguistic techniques, teaching methodologies, Indigenous knowledge systems, and beyond.

Beyond achieving fluency, you'll discover diverse approaches to supporting the language's preservation and renewal within your communities.

The program launches with a summer orientation to help you adapt to UBC Okanagan's academic setting. This introductory period lets you bond with fellow Indigenous learners, explore campus resources, and experience living in UBC housing. The Nsyilxcn Language Fluency curriculum offers complete immersion, integrating research, practical placements, and community involvement throughout.

During your final year, you'll complete an internship with a community organization and execute an individual language initiative. These experiences enable you to pursue personal language interests and apply your skills in personally significant contexts.
