The Music Scholarship program is designed for students demonstrating exceptional research abilities in music history, music theory, or ethnomusicology. Those enrolled in the Bachelor of Music program can choose from four specialized tracks: General Studies, Advanced Performance, Scholarship, or Composition. Each track features four years of individualized instruction in an instrument or voice, ensemble participation (4 years), academic music studies (3 years), and non-music electives (4 years). Course requirements and electives vary across music and other disciplines for each specialization. Third-year applicants with outstanding research potential in music history, theory, or ethnomusicology who satisfy the General Studies Major performance criteria may opt for a Music Scholarship Major. Those who don't meet performance standards can still pursue music scholarship through the Bachelor of Arts in Music program.
