Fanshawe's Music Industry Arts program hones your musical abilities and creative drive into practical skills that will help you leave your imprint on the audio and recording arts world. Explore the business side of music, mastering artist and label management, digital media technology, audio and live sound production, along with writing, producing, and engineering.
For over four decades, our alumni have ranked among the globe's top producers and performers, including winners of Oscars, JUNOs (Fanshawe JUNO playlist), and Primetime Emmys. As a student, you'll tap into this expanding alumni network while engaging with industry pioneers at Canadian Music Week. Guest lectures, masterclasses, and workshops with resident artists will also provide you with cutting-edge technological knowledge and business acumen. The Music Industry Arts program sharpens your abilities for a fulfilling career. You'll learn and practice in Canada's most advanced school recording facility. Additionally, you'll put your skills to work by coordinating and performing in the annual Share the Land charity concert, a beloved tradition among graduates.
London has been honored as a UNESCO City of Music, marking Canada's first city to achieve this distinction, announced jointly by the City of London and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.
This program fosters a creative, hands-on setting where students cultivate the artistic, technical, and business competencies needed to thrive in today's dynamic music and entertainment landscape.
With a strong emphasis on practical learning, the program provides dedicated professional recording, performance, and lab spaces for student use. The curriculum offers a diverse blend of artist development and technical training, emphasizing real-world experience. Designed for breadth, coursework covers: artist development, music publishing, entertainment law, copyright, sales and promotion, music theory, ear training, composition and arrangement, creative audio production, digital and analog console operations, recording and mixing, studio management, audio for visual media, and live sound production. Students gain computer proficiency and audio editing skills for music creation and post-production through both theory and practice. The program regularly fosters collaborative projects with other media-focused disciplines across the college.
Students must have a, OSSD with courses from the College (C), University (U),
University/College (M), or Open (O) stream WITH:
- Any Grade 12 English (C) or (U)

Pre-Media Ontario College Certificate*
