English Literature, English Language, or combined Language and Literature studies. As an English student, you'll explore the evolution and framework of the English language, examining rhetorical techniques, discourse analysis, literary criticism, and various other aspects. English majors engage with literary works composed in English across different eras and regions - from ancient medieval puzzles to modern spoken-word poetry. The curriculum also covers linguistic studies, investigating English's origins, grammatical structures, and its role in political communication and digital platforms. For English majors and honors students, the program offers deep engagement with both historical and contemporary creative writing while analyzing how language constructs meaning. Students develop skills in critical reading, clear writing, cultural interpretation, collaborative work, thoughtful inquiry, and self-directed learning.
Graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school: Higher Secondary School Certificate awarded on completion of Standard XII. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
