The Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging provides both Master's and Doctoral degree programs across fundamental, applied, and clinical research fields. Our studies maintain a clear connection to progress in diagnostic imaging, whether directly or indirectly.
Located in the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre (WMC), our department shares facilities with the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH), Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, and Stollery Children's Hospital—forming one of Western Canada's largest medical complexes. Recognized as a top-tier institution, UAH serves over 700,000 patients each year while excelling in clinical care, research, and medical education. We take equal pride in our academic programs, cutting-edge facilities, and research excellence, with many graduate students earning prestigious scholarships during their studies.
The Department's minimum admission requirements are an undergraduate degree with an admission GPA of at least 3.0 on the 4-point scale from the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification and standing from a recognized institution. The admission GPA will be calculated on the last ?60 of graded coursework completed, or on the equivalent of the last two years of full-time graded coursework.
