A periodontist is a dental specialist focused on preventing, diagnosing, and managing periodontal disease, as well as placing dental implants. These professionals are also skilled in addressing oral inflammation.
The Thesis-based MSc and PhD programs in Medical Sciences-Periodontology offer comprehensive, state-of-the-art education in these fields. The curriculum covers both traditional and innovative methods for diagnosing and treating gum disease, along with instruction in aesthetic periodontal treatments. Students will handle challenging periodontal cases, including those involving patients with complicated medical backgrounds. Furthermore, the program provides specialized training in dental implant procedures and bone-related surgical interventions.
Upon completion, graduates will be equipped to take the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) Fellowship examination and the American Board of Periodontology certification test.
