Construction engineers are skilled problem-solvers who blend critical analysis, time management, team leadership, project coordination, cost estimation, strategic planning, scheduling, project oversight, and communication abilities with their expertise in construction and engineering techniques to deliver safe, budget-compliant structures. The Hole School of Construction Engineering collaborates with the Construction Innovation Centre (CIC) to consolidate research and specialized knowledge, fostering advancements in construction processes while improving both efficiency and worksite safety.

Qualification Requirements
A baccalaureate degree or its academic equivalent from an accredited academic institution recognized by the University of Alberta.
3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (MSc Program)
3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (MEng Program)
3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (PhD Program)
The Department's minimum admission requirements are a four-year undergraduate degree with an average of 3.0 in the last two years of undergraduate work (or graduate work) at the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and a TOEFL score of 90 (internet-based with at least 21 per section) or an equivalent approved English language examination where applicable
