The Sociology MA program with a course-based approach offers a rigorous year of learning, focusing on foundational subjects like theory, research design, methodology, and statistics, culminating in a Capping Project (SOC 900). In their initial term, students are required to complete the online INT D 710 course to fulfill the Ethics and Academic Citizenship Requirement.

A faculty supervisor will guide the student through SOC 900, involving a thorough literature review and the development of a research topic in their chosen field. Throughout the winter term, alongside the research design course (SOC 533), students refine their topic into a scholarly research project that showcases their academic capabilities.
