The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences provides multidisciplinary education and research opportunities across various scientific disciplines. As one of Canada's most prominent and well-funded departments, it enjoys global recognition for pioneering research. Founded in 1995 through the merger of the Geology (established 1912) and Geography (established 1957) departments, EAS has expanded to include over 50 faculty members and more than 120 graduate students.
