The BCIT Building Engineering Building Science Master of Applied Science program equips students with the skills to independently perform thorough, original research and effectively communicate their findings to expert audiences through publications and presentations.
A foundational curriculum delivers advanced expertise for comprehensive building performance analysis, while specialized electives provide focused technical knowledge for specific research areas. The program incorporates a structured research component to cultivate essential investigative abilities.
Participants must complete research methodology training, perform literature reviews, formulate research strategies, prepare proposals, execute innovative scientific studies, and produce a substantive thesis contributing to scientific advancement. Research is conducted independently under the mentorship of a thesis advisory committee.
