The Faculty of Native Studies uniquely integrates Indigenous community wisdom and priorities with the academic rigor of a research-focused university, delivering multidisciplinary education within an academically challenging yet culturally sensitive setting that addresses local, national, and global issues. The MA in Native Studies represents an advanced academic program. Consequently, applicants should possess a solid foundation in Indigenous studies, ideally evidenced by completing the BA in Native Studies prerequisites. Alternatively, substantial coursework in Indigenous studies documented on academic transcripts may demonstrate equivalent preparation. Candidates lacking these qualifications might need to complete relevant Indigenous studies courses or comparable coursework before reapplying, with these courses ideally aligning with their proposed research focus.

An example of academic work appropriate to the application.
