Operations and Information Systems (OIS) students develop expertise as scholars in either Operations Management (OM) or Business Analytics (BA). The program provides foundational knowledge in both OM and BA, along with specialized training in at least one area. These disciplines frequently overlap, as both concentrate on analyzing and enhancing business operations. OM and BA academics typically work within the same academic units and professional organizations. The OIS PhD program prepares graduates to conduct and publish cutting-edge research, equipping them for careers at research-focused universities.
