This post-diploma course is tailored for alumni of the University of Alberta's Dental Hygiene Diploma program.

Academic Requirements - Program A
This program is intended for diploma graduates from the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Program between the years of 1998-2001 who completed the extended diploma curriculum.
Applications for admission are accepted between July 1 to November 1 the year prior to the year admission is sought.
Admission requirements
Graduation from University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Diploma Program with a minimum GPA of 2.0
Letter(s) of good standing from current and previous licensing bodies.
Program A consists of the following courses (18 units of course weight):
D HYG 417 - 3 units
D HYG 418 - 3 units
D HYG 431 - 3 units
D HYG 440 - 3 units
Two options (At the 300- or 400 level with the approval of Program Director) - 6 units
A maximum of 3 units from PAC course is permitted. (D HYG 430 may be taken as an option)
Note: Advanced credit for two options at the 300 or 400 level may be provided for University of Alberta 1998 graduates who have successfully completed DHYG 214 Spring/Summer session 1997.
Academic Requirements - Program B
This program is intended for diploma graduates from the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Program prior to 1998 and after 2008
Applications for admission are accepted between July 1 to November 1 the year prior to the year admission is sought.
Admission requirements
Graduation from University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Program with a minimum GPA of 2.0
For University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Diploma graduates whose program was 2 years in length, applicants must have completed an additional 30 units of University transferable course weight of which the following are required:
PSYCHOLOGY - 3 units
SOCIOLOGY or HUMANITIES - 3 units
ENGLISH - 6 units
STATISTICS - 3 units
Program B consists of the following courses (30 units of course weight)
D HYG 417 - 3 units
D HYG 418 - 3 units
D HYG 422 - 3 units
D HYG 431 - 3 units
D HYG 440 - 3 units
D HYG 468 (or equivalent health research course) - 3 units
Four Options - 12 units (Two at the 300 or 400 level with the approval of Program Director). A maximum of 3 units from PAC course is permitted. (D HYG 430 may be taken as an option)
Note: Advanced credits for two options (one option at the 300 or 400 level and one option at the 200 level) will be provided for University of Alberta 1997 graduates who have successfully completed DHYG 213 in the Spring/Summer Session 1996.
