The Dental Assisting (Levels I and II) Ontario College Certificate program prepares you to work effectively, ethically, and cooperatively within a healthcare team while delivering oral healthcare services. Combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on training, you'll master radiography techniques, laboratory procedures, chairside assistance, patient education, and practice management essentials for the dental field.

Gain practical experience through both on-campus and external dental office placements, honing your assisting skills to perform procedures safely and competently. Deliver patient care in Algonquin College's dental clinic and complete a 60-hour externship at a private dental practice.

This accredited one-year Ontario College Certificate program meets the standards of the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada. Upon graduation, you'll qualify to take the National Dental Assisting Examination - a mandatory requirement for practicing Level II Dental Assisting in Ontario. Successful candidates can then pursue certification through the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.
