The Bachelor of Science with Honors is an advanced degree program offering specialized training in a chosen scientific discipline, with a strong emphasis on research. Each program includes a mandatory thesis project, requiring students to meet elevated academic standards compared to the standard BSc Major. While students can complement their studies with a minor from Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, this choice limits elective course options. The Honors program does not permit double majors. The University of Alberta's Faculty of Science provides exceptional programs that examine and illuminate the scientific principles shaping our world. Featuring 65 degree options across 30 disciplines, we rank among Canada's most extensive science faculties, boasting cutting-edge facilities, undergraduate research opportunities, and distinguished faculty members who are pioneers in their respective fields.
