This program covers core concepts in machine learning, reinforcement learning, search algorithms, and ethical considerations, along with practical implementations in robotics, gaming, computer vision, and language processing. The Bachelor of Science with Honors is tailored for students seeking specialized education in a chosen discipline and who are interested in scientific inquiry. Each curriculum incorporates a mandatory research thesis component, requiring students to uphold more rigorous academic performance compared to a standard BSc Major. While students may pursue a minor from Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences faculties, this choice limits elective course options. The Honors program does not permit double majors.

The University of Alberta's Faculty of Science offers exceptional programs that examine, clarify, and address the scientific principles underlying everyday challenges. Featuring 65 degree options across 30 disciplines, we rank among Canada's most extensive science faculties, boasting cutting-edge educational resources, undergraduate research opportunities, and faculty members who are prominent researchers in their respective fields.
