Our Astrophysics curriculum delves into fundamental inquiries about the physics and characteristics of celestial bodies, galaxies, and the cosmos. You'll examine the underlying physics of astronomical phenomena while gaining computational skills to address complex physics and geophysical challenges. Hands-on learning is facilitated through departmental facilities like the Astronomical Observatory, which supports both solar and nighttime observations. The Honors Astrophysics track includes rigorous coursework in advanced mathematics and honors calculus, requiring applicants to possess substantial mathematical aptitude. The Bachelor of Science with Honors provides specialized, intensive training for research-oriented students, featuring a mandatory thesis component and stricter academic requirements compared to standard BSc programs. While students may complement their studies with a minor from Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural/Life/Environmental Sciences, this choice limits elective options. Note that double majors are incompatible with the Honors program structure.
