The Performance-Pedagogy major integrates rigorous training in instrumental or vocal performance with music history, theory, and ensemble work. This program equips students for diverse music careers including performance, education, therapy, arts management, and music research. Students can specialize in one of four concentrations: vocal studies, keyboard performance, conducting, or a broad music curriculum.
Augustana's compact campus is situated in Camrose, Alberta, merely an hour's drive southeast of Edmonton. This liberal arts and sciences institution hosts approximately 1,000 students from Canada and internationally. With intimate class sizes averaging 22 students, Augustana provides personalized education through its unique semester structure: an intensive three-week single-course period followed by an 11-week term with up to four courses. This innovative approach allows for deeper research, travel opportunities, and hands-on learning experiences while maintaining a balanced academic workload.
