The General Science program offers both major and minor options within the Bachelor of Secondary Education degree. Students explore key concepts across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics disciplines. We believe teaching is a vocation, and our mission is to equip you to become an unforgettable classroom educator. Through our Faculty of Education's Secondary Education program, you'll gain the skills to inspire grades 7-12 students across various subjects. The program lets you personalize your journey by selecting dual specializations - combining a primary focus with a secondary concentration.

This Secondary Education curriculum features two practical teaching components: a five-week Introductory Professional Term (IPT) followed by a nine-week Advanced Professional Term (APT). Students typically instruct in their primary specialization during both terms. While designed as a four-year undergraduate path, the program also accommodates post-degree candidates. Graduates qualify for Alberta teacher certification upon successful completion.
