Teaching is more than a profession—it's a vocation, and we're committed to shaping you into the unforgettable homeroom teacher your students will cherish forever. Our Secondary Education program within the Faculty of Education equips you to inspire a passion for learning and exploration across nearly any subject for grades 7-12 students. You'll select two focus areas—a primary and secondary specialization—enabling you to follow your interests and tailor your educational journey.

The Secondary Education curriculum features a five-week Introductory Professional Term (IPT) followed by a nine-week Advanced Professional Term (APT). Typically, you'll instruct in your primary specialization during both terms. While designed as a four-year program, this degree can also be pursued as a post-degree option. Graduates of this program qualify for Alberta teacher certification.
