Earning a history degree from TWU equips graduates with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and leadership abilities to make meaningful contributions.
At TWU's history program, students explore the evolution of civilizations, examining how institutions, environments, and ideologies have transformed through time. The curriculum delves into how societies have developed in relation to belief systems, philosophical concepts, emotional drivers, and socioeconomic factors. Historical literacy serves as essential preparation for engaged citizenship and for navigating faith in contemporary contexts. Additionally, both public and private sector employers increasingly value professionals who comprehend political dynamics, societal challenges, and collective perspectives. Historians with deep understanding and analytical skills emerge as influential leaders who can interpret cultural developments and guide strategic decision-making. Through TWU's Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa, students can immerse themselves in Canadian history while gaining practical experience via government or corporate internships that utilize their historical training.
