Examine how politics and economics intersect during a period of increasing globalization. Trent's International Political Economy (IPE) program – among the first established in Canada – exposes students to worldwide concerns like wealth disparities, social upheaval, trade pacts, and other geopolitical and economic challenges. Through this program, you'll discover how regional occurrences create waves across the international economic landscape, and how global power dynamics shape these impacts. This interdisciplinary program can be paired with various other fields of study at Trent for a combined major degree. Whatever direction you choose, you'll hone sharp analytical and critical reasoning abilities essential for diverse careers in business, government, international development, and activism, or for advanced academic pursuits.
