Graduates are prepared to take on professional roles with responsibility across various industries, excelling in both creative and managerial capacities that span commercial, artistic, and experimental domains.

The program equips students with fundamental knowledge to advance into graduate studies in diverse media-related academic and artistic fields. Through the Film Studies and Photography Media Arts Programs, along with the Integrated Digital Option, students gain hands-on learning rooted in design, art history, and cultural studies.

These programs emphasize a strong connection between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The coursework is enriched by a wide selection of liberal studies classes, as well as professional and career-focused electives. During their third year, Film and Photography students may opt for the Integrated Digital Option, which centers on interdisciplinary approaches, hybrid techniques, and digital proficiency.

The School of Image Arts provides access to both traditional and digital resources, with students expected to master these tools professionally. Facility usage follows School policies and curriculum guidelines. Certain program-specific equipment must be purchased by students; details can be found in the Special Department Charges and Cost of Attending Toronto Met sections within the Student Services portion of this calendar.
The Film Studies Program delivers a thorough academic structure for undergraduate education in both analogue and digital storytelling, preparing students for careers in Canada's screen industries or further graduate studies. Focused on experiential learning, the program fosters individual creativity to enrich Canadian culture and strengthen its global presence in film and video. Additionally, it cultivates adaptable, quick-thinking filmmakers skilled in diverse roles and settings, ready to seize artistic and commercial opportunities in visual communication.
