St. Thomas University provides a Bachelor of Applied Arts (BAA) program with two specialization options: Criminal Justice and Gerontology. Unlike traditional BA programs, these applied arts degrees blend liberal arts education with practical skill development.
These collaborative programs are delivered jointly with New Brunswick Community College campuses. BAA students split their studies between St. Thomas University and the partner community college. Successful graduates typically earn dual qualifications: a St. Thomas BAA degree and a community college diploma. The Gerontology specialization focuses on aging processes and challenges faced by older adults.
Created to meet industry needs for skilled professionals, this program merges theoretical knowledge in Gerontology and liberal arts with practical human services training, including real-world experience in developing and implementing senior care services. This four-year degree is offered through a partnership with New Brunswick Community College's Saint John campus.
