The Hairstyling diploma program provides hands-on, theoretical, and practical training to equip students for a rewarding career in the hairstyling field. Students develop expertise in all aspects of hairstyling, from cutting and styling to chemical treatments, hair extensions, plus business skills and career readiness.
Our instructors are seasoned professionals with extensive experience in both hairstyling and education, with many being alumni of our program. The faculty regularly enhances their skills to teach the latest techniques and trends, ensuring students stay ahead in this dynamic industry.
This diploma fulfills the 1,500 vocational training hours mandated by Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. Graduates can immediately begin an Apprenticeship (without exemption tests) and later qualify for the Certificate of Qualification exam to become licensed Hairstylists in Ontario.
Students receive practical training in our operational salons: Transition Training Salon (Brockville) and Dynamic Designs (Kingston).
The program uses top professional brands like Redken, Matrix, Pulp Riot, AG Hair, and Goldwell for hair care and styling, along with Milano Spa Software for business operations.
Through guest speakers and hands-on experiences, students connect with industry professionals and build valuable networks.
The program includes three community salon placements where students refine essential skills, with most securing apprenticeship contracts directly from these placements.
Diploma graduates master fundamental, advanced technical, and communication skills crucial for thriving in this profession.
