Enhance your diploma or degree by acquiring key skills needed for careers in the environmental field and the broader green economy. The Environmental Technician program offers comprehensive training for diverse industries through courses covering water and air quality, waste management, occupational health and safety, and environmental assessments.
Students gain from the College's collaboration with the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences. Based on the Cornwall Campus, the River Institute serves as a research hub dedicated to the St. Lawrence River and its ecosystem. Its scientists actively teach science and field courses in the program while collaborating with the College on curriculum development. This partnership allows students to engage with top researchers on pressing environmental challenges.
The 160-hour work placement lets students observe and participate in real-world environmental technician operations. Designed to bridge classroom learning with practical experience, it exposes students to specialized equipment, processes, and potential career paths. This unpaid four-week full-time placement occurs at the program's end and may take place at approved local, regional, national, or international organizations in both public and private sectors.
