Computer Science (CS) explores the principles of computation. When addressing any problem, a key consideration is whether a computational solution exists and, if so, identifying the most effective and feasible methods to execute it. The field also tackles profound questions that could reshape our understanding of reality. Can artificial intelligence truly replicate human cognition? How can we structure worldly knowledge to enhance decision-making?

At StFX, our Computer Science program delivers a comprehensive education in information science and computational theory, combined with real-world application methods that impact nearly every aspect of modern life through immersive, practical learning. Students engage with cutting-edge technologies and concepts, building a strong base for diverse computing professions. As part of Canada's leading undergraduate institutions, you'll collaborate directly with professors and contribute to innovative research initiatives.

Students can choose between a Major, Advanced Major, or Honours degree in Computer Science. Our program follows the curriculum standards set by prominent global organizations like ACM and IEEE. Foundational courses establish robust computing expertise, while specialized electives address evolving fields and industry requirements.
