The Applied Computer Science program equips students with expertise in key domains: Programming Essentials (object-oriented design, event-driven systems, algorithmic thinking), Data Systems (database architecture, information modeling, warehousing, relational databases, query optimization), Software Development (requirements analysis, system design, development methodologies, project leadership), System Operations, Network Computing (web technologies, network infrastructure, cybersecurity), User Interface Design (visual interfaces and interactive systems), and AI Technologies (Machine Learning applications). Our collaborative curriculum enhances teamwork abilities, improves interpersonal communication, and builds professional confidence. Over four years, students complete a capstone project developing software solutions for regional tech companies. This program cultivates problem-solving capabilities and hands-on competencies by integrating computer science theory with real-world applications. The Applied Computer Science degree also serves as strong preparation for advanced studies in computing disciplines.
