The Interdisciplinary Studies in AQUATIC RESOURCES (AQUA) program is a dual-major four-year course requiring 120 academic credits, culminating in either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.
This Aquatic Resources program provides students with a comprehensive perspective on water systems—including groundwater, watersheds, wetlands, lakes, rivers, and oceans—and explores human management through various social, economic, and political frameworks.
Some of today's most pressing issues, both now and in the years ahead, revolve around water. Key concerns include climate change, renewable energy initiatives, water privatization and availability, the decline of coastal communities, invasive species, conservation efforts, and the sustainability of food production systems (such as fisheries, agriculture, and aquaculture).
Dual Major Options:
Aquatic Resources paired with Economics
Aquatic Resources combined with Public Policy and Social Research (integrating Political Science, Public Policy and Governance, and Anthropology)
Aquatic Resources alongside Public Policy and Social Research (merging Political Science, Public Policy and Governance, and Sociology)
