Graduates of the Developmental Services Worker program are trained to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities across all age groups, helping them navigate various aspects of community life. The curriculum emphasizes community engagement, interpersonal and counseling techniques, positive behavior strategies, essential life skills instruction, mental health interventions, and pharmacology.
Career Paths
Entry-level roles often involve positions at community organizations, school-based educational assistants, family support specialists, and recreational aides. With strong job market demand, graduates can explore diverse opportunities, including self-employment options. Many students secure part-time positions even before completing their studies.
High school diploma/graduation certificate and transcript or equivalent in original language and English translation.
OSSD with the majority of courses at the College (C), University (U), University/College (M) or Open (O) level qualify for admission to this program.
English Proficiency Requirements:
IELTS overall band of 6.0.
PTE (Pearson Test of English) minimum score 60
TOEFL overall 83.
CAEL minimum score 60
CELPIP General 7.0 in each module.
