The Honours Bachelor of Applied Arts in Social Justice & Legal Studies is a comprehensive four-year degree program that integrates three key elements essential for driving social and political progress: poverty law, social justice, and community empowerment through education, advocacy, and activism. This interdisciplinary program, offered mainly through in-person instruction with online components and hybrid learning options, covers theoretical frameworks and practical applications across multiple fields including criminology, sociology, social work, philosophy, political science, Canadian law, community development, and studies of marginalized populations.
Students will develop robust analytical and problem-solving abilities alongside essential interpersonal skills needed for leadership roles in advocating for systemic change to support vulnerable communities. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking to identify, assess, and implement solutions addressing inequities in economic access, educational opportunities, political influence, and resource allocation for underrepresented groups.
