The Master of Science program caters to students specializing in scientific and technological fields. Research approaches incorporate mathematical modeling and quantitative/mixed evaluation techniques.
The MSc represents one of three degree options at SIAT, focusing on art, design, media, and information technology with specialized knowledge in computational aspects of human-technology interaction. This encompasses diverse fields such as art, design, digital media education, business, cognitive science, performing arts, social sciences, and cultural studies. This program targets students interested in developing and implementing user-focused technological solutions, employing methodologies rooted in scientific, computational, design, and engineering research traditions.
Program objectives include: innovating computational technologies for complex human systems; investigating technology creation and management processes; utilizing interdisciplinary research methods to foster technological advancement; and examining the implementation of digital innovations across societal and industrial sectors, with emphasis on enhancing human-technology interfaces.
Minimum Standard Entrance Requirements
an undergraduate degree in a field related to the proposed program of study. For example: BSc computer science, BASc engineering (electrical, communications, computer engineering), BA or BSc in education, management, economics or communications, BFA in art, design or performing arts, BA in art, art history, architecture, linguistics, psychology or philosophy, BArch, BLArch, BID.
OR an undergraduate degree in another, related discipline. In this instance, applicants must establish the relationship between the discipline in which they hold their previous degree(s) and this program, and explain how they would benefit from this program.

a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at a Canadian university, or equivalent, for the undergraduate degree.
English Language Requirements:
Internet-based TOEFL: 93 with minimum of 20 in each category
Paper-based TOEFL: 580 and TWE 5
IELTS (academic): overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section
CAEL: overall 70; minimum 60 in each section
Pearson Academic (PTE): overall 65; minimum 60 in all of their sections
Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced - minimum score of 193; C2 Proficiency - minimum score of 200
Duolingo English Test (DET): Provisionally through the Fall 2026 admission cycle - Duolingo English Test (DET) 130 overall with a minimum of 120 in each section.
