The Resource and Environmental Planning Program (REPP) stands as Canada's sole planning program offering specialized interdisciplinary education combining policy studies, natural sciences, and social sciences for environmental and resource planning. REPP holds professional accreditation from both the Planning Standards Board for the Planning Profession of Canada and the Planning Institute of British Columbia. Graduates earn a Master of Resource Management (Planning) degree.

The curriculum features an interconnected series of courses across related disciplines, additional planning-focused coursework, and a culminating research project. The program enhances students' understanding of natural resource systems, develops expertise in environmental planning strategies, and examines the ecological, social, economic, and policy impacts of resource management choices. Participants gain proficiency in analytical techniques and decision-support tools. Particularly in natural resource fields, the program emphasizes developing problem-solving abilities alongside creative and critical thinking - going beyond traditional subject areas like fisheries, resource economics, or silviculture.
