SFU's Master of Publishing (MPub) program equips graduate students with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge to begin their professional journey in the evolving publishing field, while making meaningful contributions to Canada's creative landscape and international markets. Led by experienced publishing professionals and academic researchers, supplemented by expert-led masterclasses, the curriculum combines interactive seminars with practical project-based learning to prepare future industry innovators. Students gain comprehensive expertise through coursework, an internship component, and either a capstone project or additional courses, totaling at least 47 credit units.
To be considered for admission to the Master of Publishing program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum second-class average (3.0 or greater GPA).
Applicants for whom English is a second language must submit results for a TOEFL (minimum score 570 or computer based 230) and a TWE (minimum score 5). Alternatively, an International English Language Testing System, IELTS, result (minimum band score 7) may be submitted in place of the TOEFL and TWE.
