The MPP program equips students to tackle Canada's and the world's most urgent challenges. Our approach integrates conceptual frameworks from economics, political science, and law while developing hands-on competencies in policy evaluation, effective communication, leadership, and professional writing. Beyond classroom instruction, students gain real-world experience through mandatory paid co-op placements with government and policy organizations. The curriculum also offers opportunities for self-directed research on policy issues of personal interest, supported by dedicated faculty mentorship. Structured to cultivate the broad strategic vision needed by future policy leaders, our cohort-based model fosters close collaboration among students and professors.
Each learner receives personalized guidance throughout the co-op placement process and benefits from customized academic planning aligned with their professional aspirations. The degree requires completion of 70 credit units, with most students graduating in May of their second academic year.
