The School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) provides a Bachelor of Science (BSc) program in interactive arts and technology with three specialization tracks: design, media arts, and interactive systems. Within the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, this program offers concentration choices in Design, Interactive Systems, and Media Arts, based at SFU's Surrey campus.
SIAT, situated on Simon Fraser University's Surrey Campus, operates as an interdisciplinary research hub where technologists, artists, designers, and theorists work together on cutting-edge research and intensive study programs.
Graduating with an Interactive Arts and Technology degree equips students to take pioneering roles in developing new media forms and designing groundbreaking technologies. The SIAT curriculum integrates the study of human experience, media and cultural analysis, artistic creation of experimental works, and emerging technology applications. Students apply these skills to influential and innovative economic sectors, crafting the technologies and experiences that increasingly define modern life.
