Applied mathematics has historically focused on mathematical areas tied to physics and engineering, but today advanced mathematical methods are utilized in diverse fields, with the discipline growing more computationally focused. The Mathematics Department provides an honors track in applied mathematics. Those drawn to applied mathematics might also explore the combined honors program in mathematics and computer science or the mathematical physics honors track, both incorporating numerous applied math courses. The Faculty of Science's Applied Mathematics program encompasses coursework from mathematics, statistics, computer science, and physics. This program is available to begin at the Surrey campus.

Qualification Requirements

Official International High school Transcripts required.Submit a transcript which includes grades for all courses completed and final grades for the first semester of Senior Year. Graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior high school. International Baccalaureate IB Diploma is required. You must successfully complete the full IB Diploma, including at least 3 HL courses IB Math Analysis and Approaches HL or SL, or IB Math Applications and Interpretations HL. IB Math Applications and Interpretations SL will not satisfy the requirement Two of: IB Biology SL or HL, or IB Chemistry HL or SL, or IB Physics HL or SL, or IB Geography HL or SL IELTS - All test formats accepted with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0.
