Our program merges rigorous professional acting training with comprehensive academic studies equivalent to an honors-level drama degree. This distinctive combination is unmatched by any other Canadian drama and theater program. Acquire professional-level experience through Sheridan's studio classes, department productions, and technical crew placements. During your final year, you'll be involved in two public performances and industry showcases like the Next Generation Showcase. You'll study concurrently at both institutions - taking drama courses at UTM that explore Western drama and film history, theory, and literature, while Sheridan hosts intimate acting classes focused on performance techniques, vocal training, on-camera work, stage combat, and solo projects. This exceptional theater education offers unparalleled creative development opportunities and prepares you for diverse career paths in drama and theater after graduation.
This program is offered in partnership with the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Application for admission to the program must be made to UTM through the Ontario Universities Application Centre. The Admissions Office receives transcript information and determines whether the Applicant meets college eligibility requirements. Those who meet the college eligibility requirements are invited to continue in the admission process. Applicants whose transcripts indicate that they do not meet eligibility requirements are asked to provide more information. If English is not your first language, or if your previous education was in another language, you can demonstrate your knowledge and skills in English in three ways: successful completion of Sheridan’s ESL program; or previous secondary or postsecondary experience in English; or achieving the minimum requirements of an English-language proficiency test.
