This distinctive four-year program attracts students globally, blending practical studio experience at Sheridan with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Art and Art History from the University of Toronto Mississauga (artandarthistory.ca). Participants attend both institutions simultaneously, exploring visual arts across cultures and eras while cultivating their own artistic voice. At Sheridan, students encounter diverse approaches to visual expression, starting studio projects in their first term and tackling creative challenges across six disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture/installation, print media, design, and photography. Advanced studio courses allow for refining skills through self-directed projects in a collaborative classroom setting. UTM coursework covers art history from ancient to modern times, teaching various analytical methods for interpreting artworks and examining visual creativity's cultural impact. The program also includes studies in art historical methodologies and optional curatorial studies courses.
