This one-year graduate certificate is designed for internationally trained nurses with a four-year bachelor's degree who aim to work in Canada. Combining theoretical instruction, laboratory work, simulations, and supervised clinical training, the program emphasizes acute care nursing. Students will enhance their abilities in clinical reasoning, judgment, nursing assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and outcome evaluation. The curriculum also explores Canadian nursing philosophy, cultural aspects, communication techniques, ethical standards, and professional practices. Participants will gain hands-on experience in acute-care environments. Upon completing the program and passing the NCLEX-RN exam to register with the College of Nurses of Ontario, graduates can pursue careers as Registered Nurses (NOC 3012). These professionals deliver patient care, conduct health education initiatives, and offer nursing practice consultations. Employment opportunities exist across diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, medical offices, clinics, community organizations, corporations, private residences, and public/private institutions, with options for self-employment.
