This aviation certificate program equips students with essential skills and knowledge to explore diverse career paths in the aviation industry. Through comprehensive training, participants will identify which aviation specialties align best with their abilities and aspirations. The program offers practical experience and career-ready competencies while introducing various aviation professions. Designed as an independent certificate program, Aviation Techniques has three primary objectives: 1. Delivering aviation career insights and fundamental training to help graduates qualify for the Transport Canada Flight Dispatcher exam, opening doors to opportunities with flight schools, air charters, or airlines. 2. Serving as a stepping stone for students pursuing higher education by creating a connection to Sault College's General Arts and Science programs and a route to the two-year university preparation diploma. We enthusiastically support students continuing to university for aviation careers in management, marketing, design, or other chosen specializations. 3. Providing foundational preparation for those considering the Aviation Technology - Flight program who wish to strengthen prerequisite knowledge before committing. This program can lead directly to flight training alongside Sault College peers to obtain a Commercial Pilot License. The curriculum is carefully designed to enhance the capabilities of aviation enthusiasts seeking professional development. Recognizing aviation's complex nature, the program offers targeted courses to help students conquer challenging subject matter. Upon completion, graduates will qualify to take the Transport Canada dispatcher exam for Flight Dispatcher certification. This program serves as an ideal launchpad for commercial aviation careers, whether through the GAS University Transfer Diploma or the Aviation Technology - Flight Diploma at Sault College.
