BCIT, among Canada's top aviation training institutions, has partnered with Pacific Flying Club and Chinook Helicopters Ltd. to create a distinctive training program for aspiring commercial helicopter pilots of all genders.
This comprehensive program combines fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight instruction with specialized academic courses, equipping students with essential aviation industry competencies. These organizations maintain strong connections with key Canadian aviation bodies including the Aerospace Industry Association of Canada, Air Transport Association of Canada, the British Columbia Aviation Council, and the Canadian General Aviation Association.
With over five decades of experience, Pacific Flying Club (PFC) operates a contemporary fleet of aircraft and simulators, establishing itself as a leading Canadian flight school that attracts international students. PFC's training facility is situated at Boundary Bay Airport in Delta, BC.
Chinook Helicopters Ltd., operating since 1982, delivers fundamental and advanced flight instruction to students worldwide. Recognized as Canada's premier helicopter flight academy, it has trained pilots from Europe, Asia, and Australasia alongside Canadian students. The school occupies a state-of-the-art facility at Abbotsford International Airport in British Columbia.
Both Pacific Flying Club and Chinook Helicopters Ltd. are accredited by British Columbia's Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA).
Program participants will first obtain their fixed-wing Private Pilot License (PPL) during initial terms before advancing to rotary-wing Commercial Pilot License training, all while working toward an aviation Diploma.
