Social workers receive specialized training to empower individuals to solve their own challenges. This program teaches you to assist people in managing everyday responsibilities by improving their connections to essential resources, support systems, and community opportunities. RDP's Social Work Diploma Program aims to produce principled, caring professionals dedicated to combating oppression and promoting equitable societies.
Social work centers on the relationship between individuals and their societal context. The curriculum explores methods for enhancing people's ability to handle daily pressures through improved access to assistance programs, community services, and personal development opportunities. Throughout the program, you'll develop skills to recognize systemic shortcomings and implement effective solutions.
Students may pursue this diploma either through full-time or flexible part-time study. RDP's Social Work Diploma Program maintains its vision of cultivating morally grounded, empathetic practitioners who champion fairness and challenge discriminatory systems.
The discipline emphasizes understanding the dynamic between personal circumstances and broader social structures. Coursework investigates practical approaches for connecting individuals with vital support networks and community assets. You'll gain expertise in pinpointing systemic barriers and developing strategies to overcome them.
The program offers both full and part-time enrollment options. During both years of study, students engage in supervised fieldwork placements. These practical components bridge classroom knowledge with real-world application, equipping graduates for meaningful careers in social services.

Students applying to Social Work must have a minimum of 50% in: ELA 30-1 (or ENGL 095 or equivalent) or
ELA 30-2 (or ENGL 090 or equivalent)
AND
Social Studies 30-1 (or SOST 095 or equivalent) or
Social Studies 30-2 (or equivalent) or
Aboriginal Studies 30 (or equivalent) or
Completion of College Board Placement (Accuplacer) testing with a minimum score of 250 on the Reading component, 250 on the Writing component and 5 on the WritePlacer Test.
Once it has been determined that you have met the academic requirements above, you will be given access to a package of materials through your account on The Loop, under the Applications tab. This package will help you complete the following additional academic requirements:
English Language Proficiency
