For those aspiring to teach and work with young learners, multiple pathways exist. Begin your educational journey with Red Deer Polytechnic's Bachelor of Education, where you can either complete our four-year B.Ed. program or transfer to another university to finish your degree. The RDP B.Ed. University Transfer program allows you to complete up to two years (60 credits) of study. These credits can be transferred toward a four-year Bachelor of Education program at the University of Alberta (for Elementary or Secondary Education) or a five-year combined degree at either the University of Alberta or the University of Lethbridge. Transfer opportunities to additional institutions are also available.

If your desired teaching specialization isn't offered at RDP, consider exploring degree options at other universities. To help assess whether teaching aligns with your career goals, the first-year EDUC 1500 course, 'The Teaching Profession,' provides classroom observation opportunities across various educational settings.
