The Rehabilitation Science Program (RHBS) provides advanced research-focused graduate studies culminating in MSc and PhD degrees. As one of five programs within the School of Rehabilitation Therapy, RHBS operates alongside two clinical graduate programs offering Occupational Therapy (MScOT) and Physical Therapy (MScPT) degrees. Additionally, the Aging and Health program delivers a Graduate Diploma, MSc, and PhD, while the Rehabilitation and Health Leadership program features an applied doctorate (DSc).
Rehabilitation Science systematically examines disability across individual, community, and societal contexts. This field views disability through interconnected dimensions including biological dysfunction, physical impairments, activity restrictions, environmental barriers, and participation limitations. The discipline employs restorative, adaptive, and transformative strategies to empower individuals in achieving fulfilling community integration and quality of life.
Upper second-class standing (B+) in a degree equivalent to an honours undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Kinesiology, or Life Sciences.
For international students, if required, a TOEFL total score of at least 550 (paperbased) or TOEFL iBT minimum scores of: writing (24/30); speaking (22/30); reading (22/30); listening (20/30), for a total of 88/120. Applicants must have the minimum score in each test as well as the minimum overall score.
