The Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences (DBMS) at Queen's University provides graduate programs for Master of Science (Anatomical Sciences), Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. For the M.Sc. and Ph.D programs, students can specialize in one of five research-focused areas that highlight the department's expertise. Offering an interdisciplinary setting, the department fosters collaboration through integrated program delivery. This approach enables students to work with more than 80 faculty members conducting diverse biomedical research, utilizing techniques that span molecular, cellular, microbial, organ-system, and whole-organism studies. Investigators in this field apply multidisciplinary strategies to examine both healthy and pathological biological processes, including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurological, respiratory, and urogenital diseases, along with cancer research. Studies employ molecular, cellular, and systems-level methodologies to analyze disease models in cells, animals, and human subjects.
