The Chemical Engineering Department collaborates with several interdisciplinary centers at Queen's University, such as: the Human Mobility Research Centre, Green Centre Canada, Innovation Park, the Queen's Centre for Energy and Power Electronics Research (ePOWER), and the Queen's Innovation Connector. It is also home to the Polymers Research Group (PRG), which specializes in polymer reaction engineering, processing, and rheology. Our department maintains an ideal balance—large enough to support diverse research initiatives while cultivating a tight-knit academic community. Students can work alongside researchers at the Human Mobility Research Centre and Computational Science and Engineering, as well as with faculty co-supervisors from other departments. Many of our students have gained international experience through research placements in countries like France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Beyond academia and industrial research, our graduates pursue careers across various sectors, including public service, private industry, consulting, sales, marketing, finance, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
