The Department of Global Development Studies (DEVS) provides interdisciplinary programs designed to equip students with the tools to understand and shape global transformations. Our curriculum tackles pressing issues like poverty, economic systems, ecological preservation, and cultural renewal, preparing students with hands-on skills to create positive change worldwide. By combining theoretical perspectives with applied methodologies, we prepare graduates for varied career paths including public service, legal professions, media, social innovation, and more.
Following introductory coursework, students progress to core classes in Indigenous Studies, Political Economy, Cultural Development, Environmental Dynamics, and Gender Studies, complemented by diverse elective offerings. Upper-year students can specialize in focused subjects ranging from Developmental Economics to Urban Studies. The program also encourages international learning experiences through our third-year study abroad initiatives.
