The Master of Financial Data Analytics (MFDA) program prepares finance professionals with cutting-edge computational abilities needed to thrive in modern financial markets. Designed for working professionals, this distinctive graduate program equips students with both financial expertise and data analysis capabilities, welcoming business graduates regardless of their mathematical proficiency. The MFDA accepts applicants from diverse academic disciplines including business, economics, finance, mathematics, computer science, IT, and other quantitative fields.

With vast amounts of data generated daily, the finance sector has become a primary beneficiary of data analytics. Financial institutions leverage information and analytical tools to gain competitive edges. Demand is rising for experts who can merge financial knowledge with technological proficiency. MFDA graduates will master financial data analysis techniques, including AI programming and its practical applications.
The MFDA curriculum consists of eight courses plus an optional internship or project, focusing on financial data analytics. While structured as a two-year, full-time in-person program, students may complete it in one year through accelerated study.
As a GARP Academic Partner, the MFDA program provides students with the foundational knowledge required for the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Part I Exam. The FRM certification, globally recognized as the gold standard for risk management professionals, is valued across international markets.

Qualification Requirements

Hold a bachelor's degree in one of the two streams.
Stream A is a quantitative stream and the applicants background includes information technology, computer science, modelling and computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, actuarial science, or other quantitative fields.
Stream B is a business stream and the applicants background includes business, economics, and finance.

All applicantsexcept those with a graduate or undergraduate degree from a Canadian or American Universitymust complete the GMAT or GRE.
A statistics course is required. Linear algebra and calculus are highly recommended.
If applicable, a minimum score of 7 on the IELTS or 100 on the TOEFL. (Note that these English language proficiency scores are slightly higher than those required for some other graduate program)
