This program is designed to cultivate expert sociotechnical scholars capable of conducting cutting-edge research and instruction in academic or industrial settings, while assisting government entities in cybersecurity policy development. The program's goals are accomplished via an integrated approach of academic coursework, seminar participation, and thesis research. The Cybersecurity PhD curriculum encompasses advanced graduate courses, seminar components, thesis proposal development, candidacy examinations, dissertation work, and final defense. The Program encourages applications from diverse academic disciplines such as computer science, IT, business administration, management, social sciences, and political science.
Students would normally be expected to have completed a four-year undergraduate degree and a thesis-based Masters degree in a relevant field from a Canadian university, or its equivalent from a recognized institution, with an overall academic standing of at least 3.5 on a 4.0/4.3 scale or its equivalent in their last two years of study.
